New mobile phone virus? A message from 3 hours ago in my friend feed (posted via Facebook Mobile) read:
I’m 8 1/2 pounds lighter thanks to the FREE trial pack of this new colon cleanser that I got! visit ExpressColon.net to get yours! zoR
Now, I’m not one to judge, but I’m pretty sure my friend wouldn’t admit to something like this. There are a couple other instances of the message with a variable code at the end… in this case “zoR”
If it is in fact a mobile phone virus, my friend was using an iPhone.
Anyone else seeing messages like this?
UPDATE (03-OCT-09 21:52 EST)
As mentioned in the comments, this is happening to people who do not even own mobile phones. Remember to scan your computer for viruses/malware if your account posted the message. And it probably wouldn’t be a bad idea to change your password at this time.

Yep, just had that happen on my status too.
It looks like a standard XSS HTML injection that used the cookies/the fact that you’re logged in to send the spam message. So, could be a security flaw in Safari mobile. THING IS, the iPhone doesn’t multitask and 2 hours ago, I was asleep – so Safari wasn’t running.
Which makes me think something more scary could be happening – a full-fledged iPhone virus :S

I’ve experienced this problem too, but I’ve never used Facebook in a

Its not a phone virus. Your computer has a virus. Its happening to people who dont own mobile phones with internet access. Run a virus and adware/malware scan asap.

I’m the victim. My status got updated while I’m sleeping. My cellphone is just SE K320, and it’s switched off. I guess that one of my friend in facebook got infected by this virus and then do damage in other people’s account.
I have revoke privileges in many application that I have not used. I still not sure which application that do this, because additional info displayed in Facebook status is only “updated 10 hours ago via Mobile Web”. It’s hard to trace who and what application that do this status update.
